A look at the UK’s Coronavirus statistics since going out of Lockdown on 19 July 2021

On 19 July 2021 the UK went out of lockdown. The conservative government promised once the COV19 vaccine had been rolled out. What is peculiar is the fact that the new cases of the virus have risen to the highest point since the last lockdown in the early part of 2021. Fortunately, the new deaths from the virus have risen only slightly, which is believed to be because the vaccine has lessened the symptoms of the Coronavirus. What needs to be remembered is the fact that the vaccines are not 100% effective and a person can still get the virus and spread it even if he has been vaccinated.

Because the UK government has chosen to go out of lockdown even though the new cases are as high as they were at the height of the second wave, it is something that needs to be looked at. Because I have written about the Coronavirus several times since the beginning of this year, I will only provide a graphical evidence of my findings.

The screenshot below depicts the UK’s new cases and compared to the US’s. As can be seen, the number of new cases are almost as high as the peak new cases in the UK’s second surge.
