Embracing new ways of learning in the information age

In my seventh decade of life, I am still continuing to learn new skills in the hopes of enhancing my financial security. I have studied various subjects my entire life, to include:-

  1. I attended elementary school and junior high school, but had to leave high school early due to fractures in the family.
  2. When I joined the United States Air Force at 18, I was trained as a Radio Relay Equipment Repairman, attending technical training and professional military schools to achieve this.
  3. Whilst in the military I took college classes and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Studies.
  4. When I left the military, I took accounting courses and was awarded a Diploma in Accounting with the Association of Accounting Technicians.
  5. I have been awarded a Master of Science in Finance through the University of Leicester.

In 2014 I found myself unemployed and realised that I needed to learn some new skills in order to compete in the job market. I therefore spent a lot of time studying financial documents and pouring over the financial statements of various companies in an attempt to improve my job prospects.
