Member-only story
More than three decades ago when I took my first Excel class, I was confronted with new technology that did not even have an undo function that would enable the user to correct any mistakes that he had made through an incorrectly placed keystroke.
More than three decades later, the simple spreadsheet program has turned into what many people would consider to be a one-stop shop.
In addition to the spreadsheet mechanism that forms the backbone of the product, there are numerous add-ins that can perform complex tasks.
If a person or company chooses to purchase a monthly subscription to Excel, he will have a plethora of functions and plug-ins to choose from in order to make the most of his tabular experience. (The online version of Excel, however, does not contain the full range of functionality).
The menu selection of my personal copy of Excel can be seen below:-
The following ribbon items that automatically come with Excel are:-
- Home
- Insert
- Page layout
- Formulas
- Data
- Review
- View
- Help
- Power pivot
