In search of a decent screen recorder for my laptop

When I first bought my ASUS VivoBook four years ago, I used the XBox app as a screen recording app.

I had seen a YouTube video by Kevin Stratvert where he showed people how to use XBox as a screen recorder. I had used the XBox app as my screen recorder for a couple of years and I was mildly satisfied with it. There were a few hiccups, though, as sometimes the app would turn off without warning and I would be required to turn it on again and reset the parameters of the app.

About a year ago the XBox app was really noisy and crackly when I tried to make a screen recording. I looked on Google and tried out many of the recommendations other users had given to correct the problem, but was unsuccessful.

Because I could not use the XBox app as a recording device any longer, I tried out the free online screen recorders with some success. I was able to get a few of these apps to work on my browser and I was quite happy with the results, mainly because I am a novice and don’t have…
