Perform an exploratory data analysis (EDA) of depressed people in India

Depression is a big topic nowadays because it affects a person’s physical and mental health. Kaggle, the data science website, has a dataset of depressed people in India, so I entered the competition and decided to use Python’s graphics library, matplotlib, to perform an exploratory data analysis (EDA) on the responses that people gave and was recorded in the train set of the dataset.

This EDA is solely for people residing in India, but there may be similarities in other countries as well.

Does age affect depression?

It seems that the older a person gets the less depressed he is likely to be. Younger people appear to suffer depression more than older people.

Does gender affect depression?

Men suffer from depression more than women do. It is also worth nothing that young men are at greater risk of committing suicide.
