I have written about the Iris dataset several times and have used the Python programming language as the basis of that writing. I have obtained a copy of the Iris dataset in Excel and have decided to use that dataset to answer a few statistical questions about that dataset. I think that it is important to know how to analyse datasets using Excel because not every organisation allows its employees access to a Python IDE, but most organisations have Excel as their spreadsheet of choice.
The screenshot below is the spreadsheet that I have created to analyse the Iris dataset:-
What is the distribution of each species?
The question asked about the distribution of the Iris dataset was not specific, so I created an extra column in the dataset and called it the area of the petal. I looked on the internet to find the formula for calculating the area of a petal and found the formula for calculating the area of a rose petal, as being:-
