Use Excel to perform an exploratory data analysis on Amazon’s Bestseller List
I have recently made a few posts where I was undertaking exploratory data analysis (EDA) in Excel using datasets that have been converted from csv files to tabular format.
In this blog post I have carried out an EDA on Amazon’s best selling book lists from an Excel file that I downloaded off the internet from this site:- https://hackernoon.com/15-excel-datasets-for-data-analytics-beginners
The dataset, as it was downloaded into Excel, can be seen below:-
In this EDA, I have attempted to answer five questions using the functions available to me in Excel.
The first question asked what the average rating of the books were. I answered this question using the AVERAGE() formula and found the average rating to be 4.6.
The second question asked what the distribution of the number of reviews received by the books is. I answered this question by creating a histogram chart on the Reviews column of the dataset and found that the distribution is right skewed.
