I have to say that I was so pleased when I learned that Excel 365 has a Python plug-in that I could use to hone my skills in both Python and Excel. I thought that it was fantastic that I could use my two favourite pieces of software in one package and decided to set about learning how to program Python in Excel.
In order to prepare myself for the task of learning how to program Python into Excel, I watched a few YouTube videos and looked at some websites that gave instructions on how to use the software.
I was a little scared, but because I was intent on learning a new skill, I created a new Excel file specifically for the purpose. I followed the instructions that I was able to pick up on the tutorials that I watched and read, and tried my best to produce some readable output. The problems that I encountered, but was sure that I could overcome were these:-
- A piece of code goes into one cell and the output of the code is not automatically apparent.
