I spend a lot of time studying the Python programming language and the libraries associated with it. In addition, I endeavour to try out different algorithms on datasets in an attempt to score as highly accurate a model as possible.

I rely on looking for computing resources online because my flat is tiny and won’t accommodate a lot of books. In addition, Python and its associated libraries are in a continuous state of revision, so a book is likely to become obsolete as soon as it has come off the printing press.

I search library documentation and tutorial sites, which afford me much knowledge. Whilst the library documentation is more difficult to discern whether it is current. One thing that I have found is to look at the date of the tutorial or blog post. If the piece was written years ago then chances are it may be utilising deprecated code.

Every dataset is different, so each time I work on a dataset I will need to consult different resources to find a solution to a problem.

One good thing about stackoverflow is that when someone posts a question, the period of time that it was posted is put beneath the question, thus giving the querent an idea of whether the code in the solution is deprecated. In addition, sometimes people who post replies to questions will say if the code is…
